Your Achievements and Mistakes of 2005 in IM
|
2006 is only 12 days away and I would say it was
a better year for me than 2004 even though I made
more money is 2004 than in 2005. The fact that I
lost my Mom in 2004 makes it the worst year of my
lifetime.
This year, I have made big mistakes that I tend to
think have contributed to lower yields than 2004.
My post today contains good tips especially for
newbies and people who have been in situations like
the ones I have been through that year. Read it and
advice me where I am doing wrong. I need you all.
1. I have spent too much time researching and
developing products forgetting the basics. I was
so relaxed in promoting my products.
2. My customer support was not the best out there.
Just when damage was done, I realized that good
customer support is a better selling product than
any other product.
3. Forums have wasted a good deal of my time... more
than I have gained from them. I have remedies for
this set for my new year resolutions.
4. My list has become polluted by ads and promotional
emails. In the whole year, I have not sent out an
email without a promotion which is a great mistake.
5. I have been really penurious this year. I have
not given free stuff on the Internet. In 2004, my
salesletters were all offering free stuff and then
I would upsell after offering something for free.
I made over 200,000.00 that year.
6. I have spent so much time trying to learn from
teleseminars, audios, ebooks but have implemented
very little. This year, I have spent $2,365.00 on
ebooks and other learning meterials.
7. I have been involved in too many things at the
same time losing focus on what I do best. Trying to
learn niche market, blogs and technology goldrush.
I have decided to focus my efforts on what I do best
and spend more time perfecting it.
8. I have whined and spent too long mourning my
Mom's death and failing to move on...thanks God now
I am able to set that aside and move on with life.
Life has to go on anyway
What I have Learnt and Done Better this year
1. Family comes first...other things follow. In 2004,
I was spending too much time online and very little
time with family.
2. Money is not happiness. I have been happier this year
in a happy family with less money than 2004 when I had
more money.
3. Rewarding is part of motivation. This year I have
rewarded myself and my family and took time off to
rejuvenate my strength to carry on.
BIG LESSON FROM MY MISTAKES AND ACHEVEMENTS.
1. Spend more time on revenue lines. This means....do
things that brings you money more often and more seriously.
2. Set specific times to reply emails and never neglect
quick response. DO NOT START your day with checking
emails... emails can easily make you lose focus of the
whole day.Hvew short achievable and realistic goals of
every day. You will have more work done in less time.
3. Post sense on forums.... Avoid idle posts in forums...
have time to hang out in forums but watch out. Forums
are good learning and deals making tools but can be
very time wasting. Learn from what inspirational
marketers post in forums. If you are keen enough, you
will learn something in common with them. Example:
check Willie Crawford's Posts this year. I have learnt
a lot from Willie's forum posting.
4. Learn to create relationship with your list. Let
your subscribers know you as a helper and not as a
promotional hog. Let them know you as someone they
can rely on. They will buy from you and become more
royal to you.
5. Learn to give out valuable stuff for free. Spend a
part of your revenue and develope something useful to
your list and give them for free. This is the best way
to build your name in your niche.
6. Be focused...avoid trying to put all information you
can ever get in your head. Focus on one area and be
good at it. Don't be jack of all trades and master
of none.. Avoid...knowing something in everything
and everything in something. It is never worth your time.
7. Avoid being overwhelmed by "opportunities".
Opportunities will ever be there....they come and go.
Focus your efforts on what you do best.
8. Don't dwell on the past...its time to move on...
kick off and move on to a higher level that you are today.
9. Family comes first. Do not let Internet become your
family. Spend some good times with the ones you love
and remember to thank your creator for what and who you
are. It is not your right to see tomorrow.
Remember Corey Rudl and pray for his Soul.
10 And when all is done right, remember to reward
yourself. Live your life like you are dying. You
only have this chance that you're breathing.
I would love to hear what other fellows have learnt
this year ending in 12 days. I would like to also
learn from your mistakes as well. May you all have
a merry Christmas and happy new year.
E&OE
Faithfully,
GREG
